Scope and contact

This policy covers the independent ATMOSFAR Field Guide at atmosfar.org. For privacy questions or requests about information you have supplied, contact [email protected]. It does not cover the game, Steam or other external sites linked from our articles.

Hosting and ordinary visits

The website is prepared for hosting on Cloudflare Pages. Serving a page involves technical data such as an IP address, request information, browser details and connection timestamps. The hosting provider may process that data for delivery, security and abuse prevention under its own policies. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

We do not operate visitor accounts, a public comment system, a newsletter sign-up or a contact form in this edition. Fonts and website illustrations are served with the website rather than requested from a third-party font service.

Google Analytics and cookieless signals

We use Google Analytics 4 on https://atmosfar.org only. A production build and a valid measurement ID are required. Local development, HTTP visits, other subdomains and Cloudflare preview addresses do not send measurement signals, regardless of your cookie choice.

On the live website, Google’s tag loads and sends cookieless measurement signals before you choose, after you decline, and when you close the choice window. With analytics storage denied, the tag is instructed not to read or write analytics cookies. Google may still receive page and event information, consent status, browser/device details and technical connection data such as your IP address. Cookieless does not mean no data is transmitted, and it is not a claim of anonymity. Page and referrer URLs configured by this site omit query strings and fragments.

Allowing analytics cookies enables cookie-based measurement, including possible _ga and _ga_* cookies. Google Signals, advertising storage and advertising personalization remain disabled in either mode. Consent Mode signals and any modeled results may differ from ordinary cookie-based reports; complete user/session attribution is not guaranteed. Data retention depends on the Analytics property settings and Google’s policies. See Google’s privacy policy and how Google uses data from partner sites.

Your choice on this device

Choose Decline analytics cookies to keep analytics storage denied, or Allow analytics cookies to permit it. Declining controls analytics cookies; it does not stop the cookieless signals described above. Use Cookie settings in the footer to change your choice. Your selection, its version and its date are stored under atmosfar-consent-v2.

The choice window appears on a first visit without a valid saved selection, including local previews. Closing or ignoring it leaves analytics storage denied. Choices expire after 180 days and do not transfer between preview and production domains. Earlier choices are requested again because this measurement policy has changed.

Withdrawing cookie permission updates analytics storage to denied and attempts to remove accessible first-party _ga cookies; cookieless measurement continues on the live website. Previously received data is not retroactively deleted. Choices are browser- and device-specific; blocking local storage may prevent them from persisting. You can clear browser storage or use browser controls to block Google requests.

YouTube videos

Video articles offer optional YouTube players. No YouTube iframe, thumbnail request or video connection is made automatically when you open a page. Choosing Load video connects to YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player at youtube-nocookie.com. Google/YouTube then receives technical information such as your IP address, browser details and the referring website, and may process viewing interactions under its policies. Privacy-enhanced mode does not mean that no data is processed or that all storage is impossible.

You can read the article without loading a player. A Watch on YouTube link opens YouTube directly and follows its policies. Loading a video is separate from allowing this site’s analytics and does not change your analytics choice. See YouTube’s privacy guidance and Google’s privacy policy.

Email enquiries

If you email us, your address, message and attachments are processed to answer the enquiry or review a correction or rights request. Email is handled through the relevant email providers, not through a form on this website. Keep sensitive information out of your message.

You can request access to or deletion of information you have supplied, subject to applicable requirements and any legitimate need to retain records. The extent of your rights depends on your jurisdiction. We do not sell personal information supplied through publication enquiries.

Advertising and future changes

This edition has no AdSense code or display advertising. If advertising is added, this policy and the consent interface must be updated before those services run, including any required certified consent platform for applicable regions. An analytics choice here is not permission for personalized advertising.

This policy should be reviewed whenever data collection changes. Its checked date appears above. External links follow the policies of their destination websites; search on this website runs against a local article index and does not send your query to an external search provider.
